USING: A DILDO | A VIBRATOR | BEN WAH/KEGEL BALLS | AN ANAL TOY
Introducing toys into your sex life, whether for personal use or play with a partner, can be a difficult task. There are so many taboo's and stigmas attached to sex and masturbation that many people feel that using toys (or having sex in general) is an act of wickedness. It's time we shed these labels and tags and learn to savor the pleasures that sex and masturbation have to offer. There are so many options available to us; so let your inhibitions go, lock the door and explore the sexual gratification that awaits.
For those of you that are new to the world of sex toys, this guide will take you through some of the basics when introducing playthings in the bedroom.
Regardless of which toy is of interest to you, it is important to start slow and work your way into it. As the saying goes, You have to warm the engine before you gun the gas!
If you are looking to play with a partner, it is recommended that you do a little self exploration before engaging with another. This will give you a chance to learn what you enjoy or dislike with the toy so you are better able to communicate needs and wants to your partner.
We are not saying that you shouldn't explore with a partner, as this can be erotic in and of itself, but if you are nervous about the whole process it's recommended to start solo.
USING A DILDO
As mentioned in the Care and Cleaning guide, you always want to ensure that your toys are clean before you use them. If your toys are not able to be boiled for disinfection, don't forget to use a condom (This will also aid in the cleanup process).

For a better experience, we recommend that you use a good lube (As toys do not lube themselves), this will allow the toy to slip inside you and move easily.
It's important to warm yourself up before jumping into it. Start by masturbating to get yourself turned on and lubricated a bit before attempting to insert the toy. Once you have gotten to this point, try playing a bit with your toy. Rub it against your body, clit and outside of the vagina to get a feel for the toy and how it feels against your skin.
When you are ready, slide the toy inside you. Again, start slow, but experiment with different depths and stroking speed. It is up to you to decide what kind of penetration you enjoy when using your toys, and if you plan on including a partner later, this will allow you to communicate your desires with them before you start. Don't forget to play with clitoral stimulation as well! This can take some practice, but observe the possibilities with penetration+clitoral stimuli. You may prefer one over the other, or you may unlock your own pandora's box.
Once you become more familiar with using your dildo and are comfortable with general penetration, try concentrating more on your body and using your pubococcygeus (PC) muscles to squeeze yourself around the toy. This will not only give your muscles a workout (Also known as kegels), but you can also use this technique to provide new sensations to your partner when having sex.

USING VIBRATORS
As mentioned in the Care and Cleaning guide, you always want to ensure that your toys are clean before you use them. If your toys are not able to be boiled for disinfection, don't forget to use a condom (This will also aid in the cleanup process).

It's important to warm yourself up before jumping into it. Start by masturbating to get yourself turned on and lubricated a bit before attempting to insert the toy. Once you are warmed up, turn your vibrator on to the lowest setting. Run it along different parts of your body, nothing the feeling generated by the vibe. Remember, the body has many erogenous zones aside from the obvious.
When you are ready, start by running the vibrator on the inside of your thigh, on either side of your vagina. This should invoke some amazing sensations, especially if it is your first time. When you are comfortable with this feeling, slowly move towards your clitoris. The feeling may be intense, but don't be afraid to go back for more.
Once you are able to give direct stimulation to your clit, try using the vibrator in different positions. Try using just the tip, or sliding the body over the clitoris. Experiment with different pressures and positions until you find something (Or many things) that you like.
Vibrators can also be used for penetration. Again, starting with the lowest setting, let the vibrator slip inside your body. See how the vibrations feel compared to clitoral stimulation, you may or may not enjoy these sensations. When you are comfortable with the low setting, experiment with dialing the vibration up and down to your desired taste and repeating the steps above. So many variations and so many sexual possibilities!
As with the dildos, try concentrating more on your body and using your pubococcygeus (PC) muscles to squeeze yourself around the toy. This will not only give your muscles a workout (Also known as kegels), but you can also use this technique to provide new sensations to your partner when having sex.

BEN WAH/KEGEL BALLS
Also known as Smartballs, these wonderful little balls have been used for years to help women control their pubococcygeus (PC) muscles.
Simply insert the balls into your vagina and hold them there. You can use the loop that comes standard on most new Ben Wah balls to pull gently on them while squeezing with your vagina to keep them in place.
It is suggested that you wear them inside you for up to 2 hours a day. The more you practice, the easier it will be keep them inside while moving about. You should never do heavy physical activity when using these balls.
Using Ben Wah/Kegel balls will give you better control during intercourse, which can also give your partner new and exciting sensations when his penis is inside you. Some people have even indicated more intense orgasms after using Ben Wah balls, though not everybody has agreed with this.

USING ANAL TOYS
dildos | vibes | plugs and prostate stimulators | beads
{typography icon_alert}Bacteria from the anus can cause serious infections in other parts of the body such as the vagina, eyes and mouth. Never use a toy or appendage in the anus and switch to another part of the body! ALWAYS wash toys and hands thoroughly first.
While you CAN use regular dildos for anal play, you run the risk of a trip to the emergency room if it gets lodged in your rectum.{/typography}
Since the anus does not lubricate itself, if you are exploring anal penetration of any kind it is imperative that you use lubrication! While you can use both water and silicone based lubes for this purpose, remember that water-based lubes can dry more quickly. Adding more lube, a few drops of water or saliva can reactivate it.
If you suffer from an enlarged prostate, make sure to consult your physician before engaging in any anal play or prostate stimulation.
Dildos
Not all dildos are create equal. If you plan on experimenting with anal penetration it is HIGHLY recommended you purchase a dildo safe for anal use. A dildo that was made safe for anal play is flared at the base to prevent it from slipping into your body.
Never force any toys with anal penetration. Start slow and breathe. Make sure you and the toy are well lubed and press the toy against your anus.
Relax your body and push slowly, as your sphincter muscles relax you should be able to feel the dildo slipping into your anus. Keep breathing and slowly pushing the dildo inside you. If it starts to hurt or feel uncomfortable try changing your position or the angle of the toy in your body. Do not continue pushing if there is discomfort, find a comfortable position before trying again.
Once you become comfortable with insertion, start to move the toy in and out of your body in short strokes. As you become more comfortable with that, you can start to experiment with longer and faster strokes. Play around a bit with angles as well, especially in men since prostate stimulation can introduce them to mind blowing orgasm.

Vibes
While there is a large selection of dildos/plugs (In a variety of shapes and sizes) with a spot to insert an egg or bullet vibe for anal play, there is a growing list of anal specific toys on the market (See Plugs and Prostate Stimulators below).
Never force any toys with anal penetration. Start slow and breathe. Make sure you and the toy are well lubed and press the toy against your anus.

Plugs and Prostate Stimulators
A good majority of these toys are geared towards men for prostate stimulation and have been carefully studied and crafted for this purpose. While created with men in mind, there is nothing to say a woman can't give them a try as well.
Never force any toys with anal penetration. Start slow and breathe. Make sure you and the toy are well lubed and press the toy against your anus.
Relax your body and push slowly, as your sphincter muscles relax you should be able to feel the plug/stimulator slipping into your anus. Keep breathing and slowly pushing the toy inside you. If it starts to hurt or feel uncomfortable try changing your position or the angle of the toy in your body. Do not continue pushing if there is discomfort, find a comfortable position before trying again.
If using a butt plug, these are generally shaped like a diamond. Once you have the plug inserted about halfway, the rest should pretty much pull itself into your body up to the base. Once inserted, you can leave them in place during masturbation or sex, or like a dildo you can pull them out and push back in.
If using a prostate simulator, these are generally meant to be left in your body and controlled by squeezing and relaxing your sphincter muscles. This is meant to give you a 'prostate massage' that can lead to amazing sensations and mind blowing orgasms.

Anal Beads
Considered one of the best anal toys for first timers, anal beads are also one of the most popular. They come in a variety of sizes, but it is recommended to start small. As with the rest of the anal toys, you should be using lots of lube to ensure a comfortable experience.
Relax your body and slowly start to push the beads in one by one. Due to their small size, you may not feel much during this process, or after they are inside your anus. Continue pushing the beads in until there are no more left, you feel full or it becomes uncomfortable.
Once inside, the beads can be left inside while masturbating or having sex. Many people will leave them in until they are nearing orgasm before SLOWLY pulling them out. This can intensify an orgasm for both men and women.
Your partner is not a garden appliance and you should NEVER attempt to yank out anal beads like you are starting a lawn mower.
